Job Title: Senior Reinsurance Analyst

SUMMARY: 

This position is responsible for working within the Risk Management Team in a Property Catastrophe Reinsurance Underwriting capacity. This individual will be responsible for various aspects of reinsurance analysis including catastrophe modeling, pricing analysis, assessment of risk transfer mechanisms, and evaluation of investment and reinsurance opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assisting in technical aspects of reinsurance placements.
  • Responsible for the evaluation of various risk transfer mechanisms.
  • Responsible for conducting Catastrophe risk modeling and reinsurance pricing analysis.
  • Responsible for Interacting with direct and brokered reinsurance markets.
  • Responsible for conducting capacity and profitability analysis.
  • Mastery of database management programs (Access, Excel) including proficiency in Access query building and report writing.
  • Manipulate large amounts of data for statistical reporting.
  • Will use mathematical and database knowledge to understand problems and form conclusions.
  • Assist in the development and generation of new reports to be provided to senior management across functional departments.
  • Must be flexible and able to be adaptable in a changing business environment.
  • Demonstrate sound, balanced and timely decision making skills.
  • Must demonstrate positive attitude and work ethic.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelors degree in finance, economics, mathematics, insurance or related discipline.
  • Two years minimum experience with capital markets, reinsurance and catastrophe modeling and reinsurance pricing analysis.
  • Mastery of database management programs (Access and Excel) including proficiency in Access query building and report writing.
  • Must be proficient in manipulating large amounts of data for statistical reporting.
  • Must have keen ability to use mathematical and database knowledge to understand problems and form conclusions.
  • Must be proficient in PowerPoint skills.
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines efficiently and with high quality.
  • Must have ability to identify problems and ability to provide solutions.
  • Must possess attention to detail and possess strong organizational skills.
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must possess a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
